We’ve seen a gracious plenty of those brick-thick wrist phones — the latest superlative was from LG, crowing about its “most advanced” version at CES a few months ago. Now Samsung answers with its even-slimmer design, calling this model S9110 “the world’s thinnest.” It’s not just thin, it’s small. If you have a hankering to go all Dick Tracy on us, you’d better have good eyesight for that 1.7-inch touchscreen.
Along for the ride are Bluetooth, voice recognition, a speakerphone, and the ability to play music and check your e-mail. The best news is that the thing is just 11.98mm thin. Now you’re talking. We Yanks will have to wait a while before we can put this on our hammy wrists, though — it goes on sale in France first for €450. Youch, that’s $639.

sgh-t469
Improving upon the Samsung Gravity that was released last November, the Korean manufacturer has now announced the availability of Gravity 2 (SGH-t469) on T-Mobile USA’s network. Like its predecessor, the Gravity 2 also sports a horizontal slide-out QWERTY keypad, although in a much slimmer body than the original. Being a messaging phone, you may not find much in there other than the QWERTY keypad, but you should know that it has a 2-megapixel camera with video recording, an mp3 player, and a microSD slot that supports 16GB cards. Still, if your life depended on messaging, you can take your pick between the t349, the Comeback, and the Gravity 2, which will be available next month at an undisclosed price and in a choice of berry mauve and metallic pumpkin.

samsungHMX-U10

Samsung Electronics is out with another ultra compact HD camcorder known as the HMX-U10. Measuring 56mm x 103mm x 15.5mm and weighing just 95-grams, this pocket-sized camcorder is packed with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor (10MP), a 2-inch LCD screen and offers full-HD video recording at 1920 x 1080 resolution. What’s more, it also features one touch ‘upload’ button, allowing users to easily share content online via YouTube. Sadly, there’s no word on pricing yet.
